Activation

A production license activates one Windows computer. Paste the key exactly as delivered and make sure the computer can reach the internet. ClearLayer permits a seven-day offline grace period after a successful validation.

Moving to another computer

Open Settings and choose “Deactivate this computer” while online, then activate the new computer. If the previous computer is lost or unusable, support can review an activation-reset request using the order identifier.

WebView2

ClearLayer requires the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime. The installer detects the runtime and can offer Microsoft's official Evergreen bootstrapper when it is missing. Managed computers may require an administrator to allow installation.

Capture exclusion

Confirm the control is enabled, then test with the exact capture or sharing product you plan to use. Windows capture exclusion is best effort and does not affect every recording tool, remote session, graphics path, or physical camera.

Safe diagnostics

Include the ClearLayer version, Windows version, approximate time, visible error code, and steps that reproduce the problem. Never send passwords, the full license key, confidential page contents, browser cookies, or unrelated screenshots.

ClearLayer is intended for lawful productivity, multitasking, presentation, and privacy-conscious window management. We may decline help for unauthorized access, policy evasion, deception, surveillance, infringement, or other prohibited activity.
