Privacy notice

Effective 13 October 2026 · Last updated 16 October 2026

ClearLayer keeps its application settings, browser profile, permissions, diagnostics, and license record primarily on your computer. It does not send your browsing activity to WebNasr. Information leaves your device when you visit a website, activate or validate a license, use the website or checkout, or choose to contact support, as explained below.

Data controller and contact

WebNasr, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 94966990 in Zaandam, North Holland, the Netherlands, is the data controller for personal data it processes in connection with ClearLayer Browser, this product website, licensing, purchases, and support. For privacy questions or requests, email contact@webnasr.com.

Scope

This notice covers the ClearLayer Browser Windows application, this product website, license activation and validation, purchases, and messages sent to WebNasr support. Independent websites and services opened inside ClearLayer have their own privacy practices.

Information stored locally

ClearLayer stores application settings under your Windows user account, including the selected panel count, opacity, always-on-top setting, screen-capture-exclusion setting, responsible-use acceptance, and whether camera or microphone permission requests are enabled.

WebView2 browser data. Microsoft Edge WebView2 maintains a local browser profile that may contain cookies, site permissions, cache, browsing history, local storage, IndexedDB, autofill data, saved passwords, and other website data. ClearLayer does not maintain a separate browsing-history database and does not intentionally log or transmit visited URLs, page titles, form contents, or website account details to WebNasr.

The local license record contains the license key, activation instance identifier, last successful validation time, and the associated store, product, and variant identifiers. Windows Data Protection API protects that file for the current Windows user. If a settings or license file is unreadable, the app may retain a quarantined recovery copy locally. Screen-capture exclusion is applied locally through a Windows window-affinity feature and does not itself send personal data to WebNasr.

Camera and microphone

Camera and microphone requests are disabled by default. If you enable either setting, ClearLayer allows WebView2 to show its normal website-specific Allow or Deny prompt. Granting permission can let the website receive and process audio or video under that website's privacy notice and terms. ClearLayer and WebNasr do not themselves record, store, or forward your camera or microphone media. WebView2 may remember a site permission in the local browser profile, and Windows privacy controls still apply.

Licensing and machine identifier

When you activate a license, ClearLayer sends the license key and a pseudonymous computer instance name to Lemon Squeezy's license service. The instance name contains a short, one-way hash derived from the Windows machine identifier; ClearLayer does not store or transmit the raw machine identifier. Later validation and deactivation requests send the license key and activation instance identifier. License responses may include activation status and store, product, and variant identifiers. Lemon Squeezy processes this information under its privacy policy.

Diagnostics and support

Local diagnostic logs contain a UTC timestamp, a predefined operational event, and, when relevant, a numeric Windows error code. They are limited to five rotating files of approximately 512 KB each. ClearLayer is designed not to put visited URLs, page titles, form contents, license keys, passwords, or email addresses in these logs. Logs are not automatically sent to WebNasr; WebNasr receives them only if you choose to provide them.

If you contact support, WebNasr processes the contact details, message, attachments, and technical information you voluntarily provide in order to respond. Do not send passwords, full license keys, or sensitive website content.

Website hosting and purchases

The static ClearLayer product pages under /clearlayer/ do not include first-party WebNasr analytics, advertising trackers, or marketing cookies. Other WebNasr pages have their own privacy disclosures. STRATO, the website hosting provider, may process IP addresses, routing and system information, security events, and ordinary traffic data to deliver and secure the site.

Lemon Squeezy acts as merchant of record for checkout and may process contact, order, payment, billing, tax, fraud-prevention, and license information under its privacy policy. WebNasr does not receive your full payment-card number.

Third-party websites

When you open a website in ClearLayer, that website receives normal browser and network requests and any login details, forms, files, messages, or media you choose to provide. The website and its service providers control that independent processing. WebNasr is not responsible for their privacy practices. WebView2 is supplied by Microsoft; its runtime and browser-profile behavior are subject to applicable Microsoft privacy terms.

Purposes and legal bases

  • Contract: to provide the application, activate and manage a license, complete a purchase, and answer support requests.
  • Legal obligation: to keep required tax and accounting records and comply with lawful requests.
  • Legitimate interests: to secure the service, prevent license fraud and abuse, diagnose failures, and improve reliability, balanced against your rights.
  • Consent: where consent is legally required, such as optional communications. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Most browser-profile and window-setting operations are user-directed and remain on your computer. WebNasr does not currently use ClearLayer personal data for targeted advertising.

Sharing and recipients

Depending on how you use ClearLayer, recipients may include the website hosting provider for website delivery and security, Lemon Squeezy for checkout and licensing, Microsoft for WebView2-related services, websites you choose to visit, WebNasr's email or support provider, and professional advisers or public authorities where legally necessary. WebNasr does not sell your personal data and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

International transfers

Some service providers may process information outside the Netherlands or European Economic Area. Where required, WebNasr relies on applicable adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, or other lawful safeguards, together with the provider terms and privacy protections described above.

Retention

Local settings, license material, and WebView2 data remain on your computer until you clear or delete them. The in-app clear-browser-data control clears the WebView2 profile categories requested by the app; it does not clear application settings, licensing records, or diagnostic logs. Uninstalling ClearLayer does not delete the %LocalAppData%\ClearLayer folder by default, so you must remove it manually if you want to erase the retained local data. Diagnostic logs rotate at a maximum of five files.

WebNasr retains support information only as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the request, maintain security, and handle legal claims. Purchase, invoice, tax, and other business records are generally retained for seven years where Dutch law requires it, and may be kept longer when necessary for a legal claim, fraud investigation, or another legal obligation.

Security

ClearLayer uses measures such as Windows user-scoped encryption for local license material, HTTPS for licensing and website connections, limited operational logging, and data minimization. No technical or organizational measure can guarantee absolute security.

Automated licensing decisions

License activation and validation are automated and can grant or deny access based on the licensing service response. ClearLayer does not use this process to profile you. If you believe a license decision is incorrect, email contact@webnasr.com so WebNasr can review or troubleshoot it. WebNasr does not make other solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects through ClearLayer.

Your privacy rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or portability of personal data WebNasr controls. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. These rights are not absolute, and WebNasr may need to verify your identity before responding. Send requests to contact@webnasr.com.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Dutch supervisory authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, or with the competent authority where you live or work.

Children

ClearLayer is not designed to knowingly collect personal data directly from children. Websites opened in the app may impose their own age limits and parental-consent requirements. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal data directly to WebNasr may contact contact@webnasr.com.

Changes to this notice

WebNasr may update this notice when ClearLayer, its providers, or legal requirements change. The updated notice will show a new “Last updated” date. Material changes will be presented through an appropriate channel before they take effect where required. Personal data will not be used retrospectively for an incompatible purpose without a valid legal basis.
